NRI Quota fees for MBBS in Tamil Nadu

For MBBS admissions in the medical colleges of India, one needs to clear the NEET UG examination which will be held on 7th May, 2023. NRIs keen to pursue MBBS from India must also qualify the NEET exam in addition to fulfilling other criterias.

The available seats for MBBS admission are divided into 2 quotas for Indian resident students: 15% seats under All India quota and 85% seats under State quota. However, for NRI students, there is a specially reserved 15% quota by MCI for Indian students living or studying outside the country.

The following students come under NRI Quota:

  • PIOs/OCIs and their children
  • Children of government employees staying abroad on deputation.
  • Students who were born abroad but have parents of Indian origin.
  • Children of Indian citizens living abroad due to work opportunities.

  • The candidate must meet the criteria for NRI quota.
  • Candidate must possess a valid passport
  • The applicant must have qualified the NEET UG examination.
  • If a candidate is applying under NRI sponsorship, there must be a direct blood relation with the financial supporter.

Documents Required for MBBS Admission under NRI Quota in India:

  • ID proof of the candidate (Passport and Valid visa)
  • Class 10th Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate.
  • Class 12th Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
  • NEET UG 2023 Score Card
  • Equivalence Certificate for education from a foreign board.
  • NOC from the candidate's country's ambassador for permission to stay and study in India.
  • Passport and Visa of the NRI sponsor.
  • Documents verifying the Relationship of the sponsor with the candidate.
  • Duly Notarized Affidavit from the sponsor affirming the sponsorship of the entire course fee of the candidate.
  • Embassy Certificate of the sponsor indicating the NRI/OCI/PIO status.
  • NRI sponsor’s bank statement or passbook.

How to apply for NRI quota seats for MBBS admissions?

After qualifying the NEET UG examination, the candidate must apply under NRI quota on the official website of MCI and be eligible for counselling. Follow the instructions for the counselling and select your preferred college for admission.

NRI quota fees for MBBS in Tamil Nadu:

The NRI quota fees for the academic year 2023-24 has not been announced yet by the various government and private medical colleges
