NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate) is a medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, etc. in various medical colleges in India. This year, NEET UG exam will be held on 7th May, 2023. The online registration process for the same has already started on 6th March, 2023 and will be open till 06th April, 2023 (up to 9:00 PM).

General Guidelines:

  • It will be an offline mode of examination i.e. Pen and Paper mode.
  • It will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
  • NEET UG 2023 will be of a duration of 200 minutes i.e. 3 hours and 20 minutes. 
  • Date and Time of the examination: 7th May, 2023 (02:00 PM to 05: 20 PM)
  • The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). 
  • There will be 50 questions from each subject, divided into two sections (A and B).
  • Out of 200 MCQs, one needs to attempt 180 questions for a total of 720 marks.
  • 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. 
  • There is no limit in regards to the number of attempts for qualifying the NEET UG examination.
  • NEET UG exam is applicable for admission to undergraduate courses in all medical disciplines such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS and BSMS courses across all the medical institutions of India.
  • Qualifying NEET UG examination is also mandatory for MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants for admission to B.Sc Nursing course at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals.
  • It is conducted once every year for the current academic session.

  • Applicants can apply for NEET UG 2023 via the Online mode only on the official website NEET(UG) 2023 Registration | NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST | India (nta.nic.in)
  • Only one application is accepted for each applicant.
  • Read the instructions carefully before filling the application form. The detailed information bulletin is available at https://neet.nta.nic.in/
  • Please enter the correct Mobile number or Email in the application form as the same will be used by NTA for further communication or correspondence.
  • To upload address proof (Present and permanent address) during the online Application Form of NEET (UG) – 2023, one may upload AADHAAR Card, Domicile Certificate, Passport, Voter ID card, etc. Both documents (if applicable) are to be merged and uploaded in a single pdf file. If the Present and Permanent addresses are the same, then the same document will suffice.

  • Processing charges & Goods and Services Tax (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable
