The exam date for NEET PG for MD/MS admission 2023 to various medical colleges of India has been declared as 5th March, 2023 and the registration process for the same has already begun. The application form is available on the official website of NBEMS NEET PG 2023 (digialm.com) and the last date for submitting the application form online is 27th January, 2023 (till 11:55 PM)

Eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2023:

  • Candidates who have completed MBBS and have the MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized by the NMC Act, 2019 and the repealed Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
  • Candidates must possess a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the National Medical Commission (formerly known as Medical Council of India) or State Medical Council.
  • The applicant must have completed or likely to complete one year of Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship on or before 30th June, 2023. (The earlier cut-off date for completion of internship was 31st March, 2023 which has been extended to 30th June, 2023 now).
  • All Indian nationals can appear for NEET PG exam 2023
  • Foreign medical graduates (Indian citizens or OCIs) need to pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) to be eligible for the NEET PG exam and should also be registered by the NMC.
  • Foreign nationals should have completed MBBS or equivalent qualification as recognised by NMC and obtain a temporary registration issued by the NMC for the duration of the PG course.
  • There is no maximum age limit for the NEET PG exam.

Exam Pattern

  • It is an online entrance exam consisting of 200 MCQs.
  • The medium of the examination will be only English. 
  • Marking Scheme: There will be 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No negative mark for unattempted questions. The total marks for the exam is 800.
  • Duration of the exam will be 3 hours and 30 minutes. 
  • The exam will be in 3 parts: Part 1 (Pre-Clinical), Part 2 (Para Clinical) and Part 3 (Clinical).

Syllabus for NEET PG 2023

  • The syllabus comprises the subjects as per Graduate Medical Education regulations issued by MCI. 
  • The subjects covered under the three sections of the exam i.e. Pre-Clinical, Para Clinical and Clinical are as follows:
    • Pre-Clinical: Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry
    • Para-Clinical: Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Social and Preventive Medicine
    • Clinical: Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiodiagnosis and Radiotherapy, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, Dermatology  and Venereology.

As the syllabus for the entrance exam is very vast, it is advisable to plan your time well and practise enough sample question papers to understand the difficulty level and manage your time for the same.
